Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre
The Beggar’s Opera
By John Gay, Directed by Chris Rovers
Society's dreams in tatters: a ruptured economy, failing banks, government bailouts of the wealthy, unbridgeable gaps between rich and poor. It's not 2009... it's 1729! This take-no-prisoners English musical parodies what we see now as the permanent societal imbalance between rich and poor with a scathing look at life and love in a world on the brink of revolution. Does anything ever change?
Performances: September 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 October 1, 2,3
All shows are at 8pm
