May Staged Reading: O'Flaherty V.C., A Recruiting Pamphlet

This year our staged readings will feature the homefront during the first World War; up next is George Bernard Shaw’s O'Flaherty V.C., A Recruiting Pamphlet

Dennis O'Flaherty, winner of the Victoria Cross for his outstanding bravery, has returned home to his local village to take part in a recruitment campaign. The twist? His mother doesn’t know he’s been in the British Army.

Directed by Adrienne Dandy, the staged readings are a low-pressure way to start your involvement at KWLT or feed your theatre addiction.

Woodsounds: Sarah Pearson & Cedar Wood Piano

Woodsounds is back with our fourth intimate night of music, featuring two piano-based solo acts.

Sarah Pearson: contemporary singer-songwriter and music therapist, healing the community one song at a time. Her prog-pop piano grooves and unmistakable voice have made her a unique presence in the KW music scene. Sarah is happily writing and recording an album this year thanks to a generous grant from the Waterloo Region Arts Fund.

February Staged Reading: The Old Lady Shows Her Medals

This year our staged readings will feature the homefront during the first World War; up next is The Old Lady Shows Her Medals by JM Barrie. If you're not able to volunteer to be in the play, come out and watch it on the 25th! It's PWYC with proceeds going to KWLT, and we have a Q&A session after!

KWLT Presents 3rd Annual Write After Valentine's Day

Join 30 Seconds to Improv for their 3rd Annual KWLT fundraiser, Write After Valentine's Day! An evening of literature and improv where we read snippets of your stories/poems/essays and use them to guide our improv scenes.

Bring something you wrote as a kid in grade school, a story you submitted for your degree, or something you put in your dream journal last night just as a few possibilities. We are super excited to return with this yearly tradition so please join us! It's a "Pay what you can" fundraiser for the theatre.
