News about the line of credit and more.
Hello everyone,
Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre has seen much good news in the last few weeks. First off, for the news you've been waiting for since the Special General Meeting: we have obtained a Line of Credit from RBC! This will allow us to continue to the rebuild of 9 Princess St. at the accelerated rate we've seen in the last few months and reopen in 2009. We've also been able to insure the site against future damage to make sure we don't wind up in this situation again. Thank you to everyone who was involved in preparing budgets and paperwork, and meeting bankers, lawyers and insurance brokers to make this happen.
What comes next? Before we can all put on our work clothes and do volunteer work at the site, we have to call in the professionals. They'll now be able to finish major jobs like heating and ventilation, stucco and siding, structural and major plumbing work. While many of you are eager to get started with the repairs, right now it's time for the skilled labourers to do their jobs. We've been waiting for the money to be able to hire them, and once they're finished, it'll be time for us to take our theatre back. We'll let you know about each repair at 9 Princess St. and when our volunteer work schedule is ready, we'll get it out.
In other news, our latest production, The Three Musketeers, sold out half of its shows and came close to selling out the others; a Saturday Matinée was added to help deal with the demand. The show has been a critical and a financial success, and it's brought our 2007-2008 season to a proud close.
Our 2008-2009 season opens with the courtroom classic drama, 12 Angry Men. Auditions are less than two weeks away: August 11th through 13th. It's all up at kwlt.org.
Let me know if you have any questions.
