This is a letter to explain some changes that will be happening at Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre in regards to our ticket prices. Please feel free to ask questions if you have any regarding the changes, but we hope this letter helps to explain why the changes are taking place.
Starting with Scrooge Macbeth, our ticket prices will be:
|"Early Bird" Pricing||Regular Pricing|
|Groups (6 or more)||$15||$20|
Over the past few years, our productions have gotten bigger and better. We’ve been doing more expensive productions, including the upcoming Legally Blonde the Musical, as well as investing more into the technical elements of each production. We have raised show budgets this year, so raising ticket prices helps us to keep the same profit margins.
"Every little bit will work towards making shows even bigger and even better. We'll be able to have bigger shows with more costumes, more lighting, more scenery, more sets, bigger casts," said Artistic Director Colleen Daley. "It will be bigger productions while keeping ticket prices at an affordable rate."
These new prices are in line with other local theatre companies and we hope that the shift in ticket prices helps to signal to new audience members that we are here making fantastic theatre.
“We’re committed to engaging and inspiring people from the Waterloo region to experience the thrill and wonder of live theatre. We will always be dedicated to producing quality theatre that is accessible for the whole community,” said Colleen.
Tickets purchased in advance will continue to be cheaper ($20 non-member, $15 member, youth, or group). However, advance or “early bird” pricing will end on Tech Weekend (the weekend before the performance opens). Shows continue to have the option of creating discount codes and other promotional rates.
We encourage you to purchase tickets in advance as it helps us to more accurately predict whether additional show dates would be needed. With such a small space, shows sell out very quickly. The earlier we know a show is selling out, the more likely we’re able to add an additional performance.
We all genuinely appreciate the support and love that has been shown our way over the long history of the Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre. We want to be around for an even longer time to come and producing great theatre. We hope to continue to fill the space with shows that make you think, feel, and inspire you.
Thanks so much for your ongoing support! We could not do this without the support of our fantastic community.
