Great news for KWLT from the WODL 2020 pre-festival adjudication!

East of Berlin invited to 2020 WODL Festival!

If you missed our production of East of Berlin, good news! At the WODL meeting in Cambridge yesterday, adjudicator Mark Mooney announced his selections for the five shows to play in festival this year… and KWLT's production is among them!

East of Berlin will be presented on Thursday, March 19th at 8pm at the Cambridge Arts Theatre on Water Street South in Galt. We'll be part of a great festival lineup, with productions by Ghost Light Players (of Windsor), Owen Sound Little Theatre, Theatre Sarnia, and Elora Community Theatre throughout the week of March 16-20.

Tickets are available now for both individual shows and (until March 1st) a festival package for all five shows, as well as for the gala awards dinner on March 21st.

WODL adjudication results

In addition to the festival line-up, Mark also announced the winners and nominees for the pre-festival awards. Full results are available here. KWLT was recognized with five nominations and one award:
  • Susan Williams was nominated for the Audrey Vale Award for Outstanding Performance in a Major Role, for her performance in The December Man as Katherine Fournier.
  • Scott Cooper was nominated for the Theatre Sarnia Memorial Award for Outstanding Performance in a Major Role, for his performance in The December Man as Benoit Fournier.
  • Diana Lobb was nominated for the Harry Bolton Memorial Award for Outstanding Direction, for her work on The December Man.
  • Peter Aitchison was nominated for the Palace Theatre Award for Outstanding Lighting Design and Execution, for his work in East of Berlin.
  • KWLT's production of East of Berlin was awarded the Catherine Brickenden Award for Outstanding Production of a Canadian Play!
