Woodsounds Wednesdays is an occasional concert series at the Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre, with a focus on local and regional acts in an intimate venue. “Woodsounds” calls back to a concert series at our theatre before the fire, that was curated by the late Matt Osborne. “We’re running this series as a way of celebrating our regional music scene and bringing a new audience to the little theatre.  The impetus behind the original Woodsounds series was to showcase musicians in a space where all of the seats face forward, where the audience can focus on the music.  We’re hoping to recapture that musical intimacy,” said organizer Matt Walsh.

Our first show features Big Rude Jake with opening act Sara Rose Hebert on Wednesday, October 26 at 8PM. Tickets are available online. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

Big Rude Jake Hiebert is a lyricist, songwriter, singer, musician, bandleader and history buff with a diverse array of influences. Noted for his skill as a blues shouter and raconteur, Big Rude Jake Hiebert is especially drawn to the roots of American music. You’ll hear blues, jazz, rockabilly, jump, gospel, folk and fingerpicking ragtime guitar. Add a sharp wit and a touch of cabaret and you’ve got Big Rude Jake.
