March Madness: Announcing the winning playwrite!

KWLT and the March Madness Committee are very pleased to announce that the chosen script for this year’s show is the entry by Kevin Magri. Congratulations, Kevin!

We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to submit a script, and hope that you’ll participate again next year.

March Madness will be held on March 14th at KWLT, when multiple teams will perform Kevin’s script. If you want to know what the play is called and about, you’ll have to come out to watch!

KWLT Presents: A staged reading of A Mad Breakfast

Join us next Saturday February 21 at 8pm for a staged reading of a classic Vaudeville farce, A Mad Breakfast by Isabel McReynolds Gray. Directed by Adrienne Dandy.

In a boarding house, practical jokers Mr Jones and Miss Brown tell each of the Guests that wealthy visitor Mr Long is especially interested in their individual hobbies. They also tell Mr Long that the boarding house is a lunatic asylum.

Admission is by donation. After the reading, we'll have a discussion about the play and the performance. Find the facebook event here:

Finding Your Conduit - Acting Workshop (The Genesius Project)

This workshop comes out of the ground-breaking research and exploratory work of Professor Leslie O’Dell, as recorded in her book The Charismatic Chameleon. A conduit can be described as the best means for you to access your creative and natural gifts, as an actor. This workshop is also good for directors to learn different ways to communicate with actors that are beneficial to the production.

KWLT is proud to host Write Before Valentine's Day!

The fine folks at 30 Seconds to Improv are putting on their first show, and we are hosting! Write Before Valentine's Day is an improv show that uses written material provided by the audience to launch comedic improvised scenes. The show will be presented ONE NIGHT ONLY at the Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre. They are kindly running this show as a pay-what-you-can fundraiser for KWLT's roof replacement fund.

Wait, you haven't heard of 30 Seconds to Improv? Well, that's about to change. The group behind the project, is made up of experienced improvisors who have performed locally for many years. They hope to engage both the local writing and theatre scenes in one show held on Valentine's Eve (which should be a thing, but isn't really yet.)

More details are available at the event's Facebook page:  and by clicking "Read More" below.
