This one-night only production of the Abortion Monologues highlights the stories of fictional individuals and their experience with abortion. In Canada, 30% of people who are able to become pregnant will choose to have an abortion during their lifetime. In this play, individuals discuss their experiences with abortion and reveal the complex, often ambivalent and contradictory responses they have to their situations. In doing so, they reveal their lives and the human condition. Prior to the production, Sexual Health, Options, Resource and Education (SHORE) Centre Executive Director Lyndsey Butcher will speak about SHORE Centre (formerly Planned Parenthood - Waterloo Region) and their pro-choice Options Counselling program they provide.
