How does a play come together? In this slightly madcap event, Josh Ashley will guide participants through the process of making a play, starting with writing the script on the evening of August 19, through staging and rehearsal during the day on August 20 and presenting it to an audience that evening.
Here’s a rough schedule of what to expect:
- August 19, 7pm-midnight: Assemble, brainstorm the idea, then work on writing segments throughout the evening. Before leaving the theatre at midnight there should be a compiled draft of the play.
- August 20
- 9am-3pm: Rehearsals and discussions of achievable technical elements
- 3-5:30pm: Final rehearsals with technical elements
- 5:30-7pm: Dinner break
- 8pm-11pm: Showtime and clean-up
