A melodrama shot through with dark comedy, Zastrozzi is violent and sensual, witty and pitiless. KWLT is presenting Walker’s classic tale of revenge with masks and physicality drawn from Commedia Dell’Arte. Come for the swordplay, stay for the philosophy, and pray you don’t catch Zastrozzi’s attention…
Zastrozzi runs from April 27 to May 13 on Thursday through Saturday nights, with curtain at 8pm each night. We anticipate a runtime of about two hours, including a 15-minute intermission. Tickets are $20 in advance (plus service fees), $25 at the door, with discounts available for KWLT members, groups of six or more patrons, and youths and seniors. There are a limited number of pay-what-you-can tickets available each night.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still ongoing, we will be presenting this performance with heightened restrictions to accommodate the COVID-cautious, including a lower audience capacity and required masking; facemasks will be available for audience members who come without.
Please note that online ticket sales are available up until 4 hours before the performance. Even then, there may still be walk-in tickets available, so please arrive before showtime!
Content warning: Zastrozzi features violence, partial nudity, sexual situations, and discussions of sexual assault.
