What is You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown about?
Based on the much loved Peanuts Comic Strips, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a musical revue of Charlie Brown and his friends in their daily adventures! You’ll feel like you’ve jumped into your tv screen as you scramble to catch the bus, write a book report and play a baseball game with all your favourite Peanuts characters.
What roles are available in the play?

- Lucy Van Pelt – Range: G3-F5 (opt. F#5)
- Snoopy – Range: (opt. A2) C3-A4 (opt. D5)
- Schroeder – Range: (opt. A2) Bb2-Ab4

- Linus Van Pelt – Range: (opt. A2) Bb2-E4 (opt. F#4)
When and where are auditions being held?
Auditions will be held at the Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre (9 Princess St E, Waterloo, Ontario).
Our auditions are open to all who are interested. You can provide your information and register for a timeslot ahead of time, or drop in and we will squeeze you in where we can.
Audition slots are one hour long. Those signed up will be seen in order of arrival with a dance audition to follow.
Dates and times are as follows:
- Sunday, March 22, 2026: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Monday, March 23, 2026 and Tuesday, March 24, 2026: 6 pm–9 PM
Acceptance/ Regret emails will be sent Thursday March 26th.
What do I need to prepare for auditions?
Please prepare the following for your audition:
- Comedic monologue – 1 minute (of your choice)
- Song – 1.5 minutes, not from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; choose a song that best reflects the character you are interested in. Please bring your own accompaniment track.
- Be familiar with the songs from the character(s) you are interested in, as you may be asked to sing them.
- Headshots are not required, as photos will be taken at the audition.
What should I expect from auditions?
Auditions will be friendly, supportive, and low-stress. You can expect the following:
- You will perform your prepared monologue and song
- Sides and/or monologues will be provided as needed
- There will likely be a brief vocal range check, so please arrive warmed up and vocally ready
- There will be a short dance/movement portion; please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (no prior dance experience is required)
- You may be asked for simple direction to see how you take notes and adjust

What are you looking for from actors?
- A strong willingness to commit and reliable attendance throughout the rehearsal process
- Performers who enjoy bold, playful, and over-exaggerated characterizations in the spirit of the show
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to help create a safe, respectful rehearsal space, including being open to sharing ideas while understanding that not all contributions will be used
Will there be callbacks?
Yes! Callbacks will be by invitation only, and will be held on Wednesday March 25th at the theatre from 6–9pm. Invitations will be sent out the evening of Tuesday March 24th.
Please note: getting a callback is not a guarantee that you will be cast, and not getting one is not a rejection.
What is the expected rehearsal schedule like?
Sundays 1-5pm and/or 6:30-9:30 PM
Wednesdays 6:30-9:30 PM
Thursdays 6:30-9:30 PM
When are the shows and other important dates?
Shows will be running June 12–14, 19–21, and 26–28, 2026. We will have three shows a week: Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday matinees.
The COVID Conscious performance will be on Friday June 19th evening. If the COVID performance needs to be rescheduled, it will occur on a following Saturday evening.
A Relaxed Performance will be Sunday June 14th matinee.

Attendance at Tech Weekend, Dress Rehearsals, and Shows are required for our cast.
