Echoes & Experiments

An evening of unconventional theatre

Featuring Tone Clusters by Joyce Carol Oates,
directed by Paul Dunn

Auditions: March 21–23, 2027
Performances: April 30–May 2, 2027

In Echoes & Experiments KWLT will be spotlighting shorter works with a bit of an edge, including Joyce Carol Oates’ Tone Clusters and a play from the 2026 New Works Festival.

Tone Clusters

Tone Clusters is a gripping drama about the parents of an alleged killer, and how they are forced to deal with the media. Frank and Emily Gulick’s son Carl has been arrested for the sadistic murder of Edith Kaminsky. They are adamant that their son is innocent, and what unfolds is a clash between the worldly, condescending media and two individuals’ desperate attempts to claim ownership of their own lives. A discordant symphony of denial in the suburban heartland.

New Works Festival piece

KWLT’s New Works Festival showcases bold, original pieces from emerging and established artists. This performance features a work from this year’s festival, returning for a second life on stage.
