July 6, 7-10pm: Open Script Night
Bring a new script you’re working on! Whether it’s a poem, sketch, or a full 30-minute play, we’ll read it together. Not a writer? Join us to act! Audience members are welcome to offer feedback or just sit back and enjoy. To submit a script or sign up to act, email newworks@kwlt.org or contact Zivy Hardy and Josh Ashley on Slack. July 12, 7-10pm: Open Script Night
Enjoy an open session of script readings, including a new work by Nyx. Bring a script, grab a role, or come as audience.
July 13, 7-10pm: So You Want To Write a Play, But Don’t Know Where To Start
Come explore various approaches to coming up with ideas, creating characters and structuring your work. By the end of the night, we will have collectively created our own monologue play. This workshop is facilitated by Josh Ashley, a Drama teacher at Huron Heights Secondary School Drama Department.
July 19, 7-10pm: 50+ Theatrical Styles: A Lecture-Workshop for Thinking Outside the (Black) Box
Facilitated by Morgan Anderson, theatre educator and PhD candidate in Theatre and Performance Studies. In this lecture-workshop you’ll be rapidly introduced to a wide range of theatrical forms and then invited to combine them to imagine radical, new forms for your own shows. Directors, writers, dramaturgs, and interested onlookers welcome!
July 20, 7-10pm: Open Script Night

Another evening of community-led readings, with featured scripts by Laurie Meyers, Srijith Ramaswami, and Derek Czajkowski.
July 27, 7-10pm: The Untitled Annie Project
A brand-new piece by Josh Ashley! Follow Sandy and Melody Rose through their unique father and daughter relationship as they come to terms with his mortality through humour, sadness and sons in this mismatched cabaret.
