Ordinary Days is a musical that follows the intersecting lives of four people living in New York City. It is about finding beauty in everyday life, and human connection in the aftermath of tragedy. The show centres on two relationships. The first is a burgeoning friendship between fiery Deb and relentlessly upbeat Warren after a serendipitous meeting. The other is a strained romance between Jason and Claire, who are trying to move their relationship to the next level despite Claire’s reservations.
Auditions will be held March 27-29, 7-10pm at the flex space in 44 Gaukel St. in Kitchener, with callbacks on March 31. We welcome auditions for all four roles from people of all genders, ethnicities, backgrounds, and levels of singing experience. Our main concern will be vocal range.
Ordinary Days is entirely sung through, and as such we will only require sung audition material. Please prepare a 1 minute excerpt of a song of your choice that shows off your vocal range and acting abilities. You are welcome to sing with a backing track or provide sheet music. In either case, please email your audition material (.mp3 or .pdf) to ordinary.days@kwlt.org no later than 48 hours before your audition time slot.
In the audition you will be asked to sing a very small excerpt of music from the show. These excerpts will be emailed to you once you’ve filled out the audition sign up form. Please keep an eye on your inbox!
