Waterloo

Directed by Jasmine Rajaballey
Auditions: August 26–27, 2026

About the show
Waterloo by Zivy Hardy, developed in KWLT’s New Works Collective, follows Izzy and Sarah, two women working in corporate America. Their story unfolds over two decades and across a range of media (letters, phone calls, texts, emails, onscreen chats, and in-person interactions). In the tradition of character-driven women’s theatre, Waterloo shows how Izzy and Sarah’s friendship deepens and strains as they battle interpersonal and systemic sexism, examining how workplace structures shape women’s lives.
About the characters
Isabela ‘Izzy’ Jiménez (Female presenting, ages 20-40): A brilliant and driven urban designer, Izzy is confident, exuberant, and tougher than any man at her job. *Priority will be given to racialized actors for this role.
Sarah Novak (Female presenting, ages 20-40): Quiet and rule-abiding, Sarah is unsure of how she can fit into corporate America. Equipped only with a BA in English and a love of literature, she must overcome the struggles women face to make a living.
